Other people have already done it Tipzzzzz, I know you can read as you're replying to me so off you pop to answer their points.

Or is your rant at me an attempt to get out of doing that?

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
I have never read on here anyone saying CFC is worth 12-15 points a season.

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
We need to shift a few on as well. Jarvis, Maiga (as if), Nolan, JOB, etc, but not even a hint of a rumour of a possible sale for any of them. Bit strange that, but at least there's still time for Cole to come limping back with that irrepressible smile of his, which is worth 12-15 points a season according to some on here...

Johnson. I always try never to underestimate the intelligence of others. With you, that is fucking impossible.
Now try to tell me what I got wrong, by asking a question. No, don't bother. Come back when you've completed your remedial reading course.

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
I trust Bilic when he said we had to be clever. I think he wants to spread it out and balance the side. So I guess that means hanging on and gambling that prices are reduced.

I reckon we'll get 3 first team players in if we can. Central midfield and a striker as priority. Another winger if we can spread it out and find the right deal.

Song, Halilovic and Javier Hernandez would be dream stuff.

Need to sign a striker or we will suffer

We will have a Striker and Song before the end of the window but agree we have been very slow in finalising these.

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
I am very disappointed we have not signed a decent striker. Our situation becoming far more acute with Valencias injury. We knew back in February when AC got injured we were short in the striking department and still we have done nothing about it.Very disappointing and as it seems the board are reluctant to spend serious money I guess we will be scampering around until deadline day trying to get one in and be told the following day we missed out on several big name strikers.

Plus also Etherington and Horlock in August 2003. So Norway Tips got quite a few wrong. Pardew arrived October 2003.

Also Roeder signed David Connolly the same month Rob Lee arrived.

You are not mistaken. Lee arrived July 2003, Roeder got the chop August.

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
I think we are only a player or two away from having a very decent first choice first eleven.

Unfortunately, when we run into injuries and suspensions, we are a bit light still. I don't think we make enough effort to get rid of the likes of Nolan, Jarvis and JOB and take a chance on someone else (maybe someone younger from the lower divisions), nor do we do enough to ensure that the likes of Poyet are able to step up when the time comes.

You've hit the nail on the head.....as you point out, the top teams make bad buys all the time. The difference with the top sides is, they have great squads, so their bad buys tend to be forgotten more easily.

And as you also rightly point out, a little bit more patience is needed, in terms of us competing with say the top six. I do think though,we can higher our expectations with regards to the quality of football - and so far to a degree , Bilic has delivered. ...

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
It's only underwhelming because we signed Obiang and Payet before hand.

If we'd signed Messi and Ronaldo before Ogbonna it would also be underwhelming.

Still, agree we do need to add a little bit more quality into the team and hopefully they get a striker + Song.

Unless I am very much mistaken, Rob Lee was signed by Glen Roeder.

Losing out on a player to SWANSEA FUCKING CITY is a low, no matter what the reasons.

I'm led to believe our reluctance to sign Ayew was down to agent politics.

A shame as he looks like a Proper player.
